Do we need to make a reservation?
Reservations are required on weekends and Holidays. Weekdays Walk-ins are welcome Memorial Day thru Labor Day, but reservations are recommended to guarantee a canoe.
Do I have to put down a deposit?
Weekends and Holidays require a $15 pre-payment per canoe and $5 per tube.
What does our rental include?
Your rental will include your canoe/tube, a life jacket per person, 2 paddles, shuttle service, and sales tax.
What happens if it rains and we don’t want to canoe?
If it is a gentle rain or rain is predicted to be over by noon, it is a GO. If it is a dangerous situation with lightning or other hazards i.e. heavy rain, high water, you will be issued a Rain Check for your deposit which will be good for a year from the date of the outing. There will be no returns of deposits.
What if someone in our group has their own canoe?
They may unload their canoe at the canoe rental with your group, but there is a $5 drop fee per vessel. The ending at Pictured Rocks Park is public access, but this covers shuttle for one person.
How long does the trip last?
Canoe floating time is approximately 3-4 hours depending on river level.
Inner-tube floating time is 4-6 hours depending on river level. There are sandbars along the way if you wish to stop.
What time do we need to be finished?
All canoes and inner-tubes need to be in no later than 6:30pm, or there will be a $20 late charge.
Can we start our trip anytime?
Departures for canoes are anytime between 9am-1pm. Departure time for inner tubes is no later than 11:30 AM.
Is there room for a cooler in the canoe?
Yes, there is room for a large cooler.
How do we get back to our vehicle when we are finished?
Your shuttle is done before you canoe, so you will be floating to Pictured Rocks Park where your vehicle is parked.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes.
